Meet our Teachers

Glenda

I have had a love for swimming for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a family of swimmers, I spent so many happy hours in water! I went on to enjoy some years of competitive swimming, and finally opened my first swim school in 1991, to pass on this passion and feel for water.

I had the privilege of seeing some of my early swimmers going on to become competitive themselves, but my main satisfaction is always in seeing young swimmers learning to love the water.

Lisa

My passion is in surfing and swimming. I am in the water through the darkest of winter days paddling out in the waves at 6am. I love the Ocean, and have led my three children to love it too. I believe every child should have the skill to be able to safely and confidently enjoy water! The health benefits to the mind and body of swimming and connecting with water are a life skill I am passionate to share and teach, which I have been doing for six years now.

My ethos is, “swimming should be fun; children should leave the class feeling happy, confident, calm and balanced.” This will give them a life skill they will use forever.

Lorna

I was teaching in an Infant School for twenty years before shaking it up and moving to an aquatic classroom! I am passionate about enabling children to achieve their goals no matter how big or small the steps to reach them.

I gained my Sign Language qualification many years ago, and I still use signs and gestures when it supports learning - sometimes a noisy pool environment is an ideal place to use it, particularly with the babies!

If I'm not at school or in the pool, you'll find me on the side of a football pitch or cricket ground somewhere in the South of England, supporting my boys with their passions.

Emma

Born and raised on a subtropical coastline, the sea was a part of my life from infancy. My love for water developed as I grew older and became a competitive swimmer. I did well in national competitive swimming as well as open water meets for a few years before becoming a swim teacher in 2017.

My competitive background in swimming makes me deeply passionate about this sport. Swimming is a life skill - all children should be water safe and have a sense of confidence when in the water. Seeing children progress and develop their own love for the water and this sport is what motivates me.

I am a qualified Play Therapist for my day job, through which my impact in children’s lives has only grown.
