3. Why Certification?

If you want your child to become a complete swimmer, not just water safe and able to enjoy the water, then steady measurable progression in all strokes and increasing distances is needed.

In harmony with the STA certificates which are mostly skill-based, we run assessment for all four swimming strokes, according to their developmental stages.

In the early stages (Stanley 1 to 3), we are establishing good kicks, body positions (push and glides) and breath control (blowing bubbles). These are crucial building blocks towards feel and form in the foundation strokes.

In the intermediate stages (Stanley 4 to 6), we introduce side breathing in front crawl and start to perfect the kicks on all the other strokes.

From Stanley 7 upwards, moving towards Goldfish and Angelfish levels, we are focusing on the timing and rhythm of stroke, as well as building their stamina and developing advanced water safety skills.

As your child progresses and shows aptitude, opportunities for those feeling a desire to swim more professionally can come through squad training. Some can also pursue certified lifesaving training as part of their journey.
